within 1 decision, there might be multiple decision makers. we did a site for a “gap year” counselor firm, so the personas were students, their parents, high school guidance counselors, program owners, etc.
mine (and my company’s) has been to do a lot more outreach, and do more guest appearances. no matter the size, just expanding the audience and speaking to that audience’s pains 😉
Hi! warm but stormy!
gonna be heading your way next week, I’ll have to DM you and see if we can get together
Thanks, Don! Good to see you.
Ruth
hey guys!
whats happening y’all
if it doesn’t die mid-show…
AWWWW, all the feels, @3rhinomedia
speak to the pain you’re solving
@confluentforms yes!
“you won’t miss the nail with our huge hammer!”
What is the pain you are solving for who
I think people often try to make the tagline do too much. It’s the tagline, not the search description
that’s a mouthful
https://quip.com/
@confluentforms do you have any favorite taglines?
“creating smart AND beautiful websites, software and strategies for your unique business goals” -> our tagline
@confluentforms NICE!
agreed. make that bond immediately
then funnel them
speak to THEM
The Crack Shack: http://www.crack-shack.com/ (All Day Chicken & Eggs!)
http://www.alaskasleep.com/
@confluentforms i definitey need to get up there. need to time when the sun is out
then using imagery to create the bond
there was a great Alaska campaign a few years back, B4UDie (because everyone says “I need to visit Alaska before I die!”)
@confluentforms @handythinks ALASKA is AMAZING!
exactly why a business really needs to have quality Buyer Personas
@confluentforms spot on! People want to be spoken to directly
Hi All
@handythinks definitely have had that conversation with a local client, a hospice center
@Searchtalklive hola!
the site needed to speak to them all differently
within 1 decision, there might be multiple decision makers. we did a site for a “gap year” counselor firm, so the personas were students, their parents, high school guidance counselors, program owners, etc.
@confluentforms this is a great example. How did you organize the site?
@3rhinomedia we thought about the decision funnel, as well as the audiences. http://www.interimprograms.com
@confluentforms very cool
@mikebroadwell very much agree. It’s a great idea to get clear on what you want out of college.
“Mind the Gap”
Roofing for Realtors. great landing page for a query
so the student might be doing the intiial research, then send to their parents for “approval/discussion”
or it could be the parent doing the research, sending to the student to get them onboard
it’s interesting how the funnel works
@confluentforms it’s fascinating stuff for sure!
Plus there are so many goofy majors now that aren’t useful.
@greginspires howdy Greg!
@greginspires where in Ohio are you?
Columbus
@greginspires fellow Big Ten friend!
that’s why I’ve found retargeting in FB so effective
true, but it IS effective if used correctly!
@3rhinomedia Hello Don
Hi Terry!
People should spend a gap year trying to see what college is really all about any more. Insanely expensive for what?
can’t fight the commodity pricing
mine (and my company’s) has been to do a lot more outreach, and do more guest appearances. no matter the size, just expanding the audience and speaking to that audience’s pains 😉
inbound marketing means… nothing. they coined the phrase in order to create a product that had a perceived need
@confluentforms very cool! Are you doing that via in person speaking opportunities?
isn’t all marketing to create inbound, at some level?
@confluentforms Yep …
Hello everybody.
Hi James! I have family in Taiwan. Very cool to have you in.
Hi David! @confluentforms
hey Nazim!
@casachiesi Ciao Nazim!
@3rhinomedia mostly video, via Blab, Hangouts, recorded videos, twitter chats, etc
@confluentforms smart way of doing it!
@3rhinomedia Glad to be here.
and tying that footprint back to actions
increasing digital footprint
Kinda like IT folks
@casachiesi to say the least 😉
that contact is the first step to buying in to you and your value
yes! make THEM take the step!
Hi Ryan!
@4seas1family great to have you in!
Hola
a business card is not yet a lead. but I think getting them to do the initial contact, moves it from being “polite” to being WARM
yup. if they’re not active participant, they’re not going to be good
better vetting of customers
Wine fires dopamine in my case.
Thanks
Here in Italy typical.
Exactly.
nope
Social Media
exactly they are excited
@casachiesi I do … the main ones are typical for me.
excitement will wear off
@mikebroadwell TY!
Great tips!

I am seriously thinking of glueing a beacon to my forehead and drop the Business Cards.
Can I scan my card in for you?
