Welcome to Day 3: On day 2 we talked about the foundational mindset needed to think like a champion goal setter.
The purpose of next 2 videos is to give you secrets tips to keep going throughout the 30 days.
The vast majority of people who set goals never accomplish them because they get distracted, get discouraged, get tired or get lazy. These tips will help you avoid these traps.
Remember, intentions don’t equal accomplishments. You have to act on your intentions and you only have to do it for 30 days.
So what are some quick tactics for keeping yourself going? Today I’m going to share the one that’s probably most important for me.
Tip For Today Eat Your Frog.
What the heck is eating your frog? This comes from Brian Tracy‘s book “Eat That Frog”.
Brian writes, “Mark Twain once said that if the first thing you do each morning is to eat a live frog, you can go through the day with the satisfaction of knowing that that is probably the worse things that is going to happen to you all day long. Your “frog” is your biggest, most important task, the one you are most likely to procrastinate on if you don’t do something about it.”
Here are 3 tips for how to keep moving toward your goals by eating your frog:.
- If You Have to Eat Two Frogs, Eat the Ugliest One First. Simply stated, take on your biggest challenge first thing each day, the one you really have been avoiding doing, but needs to be done.
- If You Have to Eat a Live Frog at All, it Doesn’t Pay to Sit and Look at it for Very Long. Don’t overly analyze … act! It’s like jumping into a pool vs. just dipping your toe in an slowly entering the water. Just get it done.
- No Shortcuts. Face you challenge. Don’t run from it. Champions and super successful people know success takes work. Embrace the work by doing micro-actions every day.
Your Assignment
Write out … what is your “frog?” What is the one task that you despise doing each day? Once you have chosen your “frog” make it a habit to wake up every morning and do that task first.
